I am excited about the opportunity to serve as your next DWG Alderman, place 3. I'm looking forward to joining the current leadership team. As an active, informed citizen I have watched positive changes implemented since last May and have been enthusiastic about the prospect of joining a council that is forward thinking and proactive. The most important thing I did before making my decision to file for Alderman was to attend the council's strategic planning session held last November to make sure I could support the goals the council laid out and be able to make positive contributions towards those goals.Once part of City Council I will be able to draw from many aspects of my past to contribute to DWG's future. I have been a citizen for 29 years. During much of that time I have regularly attended city meetings and volunteered extensively in various roles for the city such as 2 years on ZBA, 4 years on the Park Board, 8 years and counting on Planning and Zoning, 2 years on City Council and almost 20 years on the Historical Committee. Other experiences I will draw from include my teaching background, my Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and various other volunteer positions.
